This section of the exam is all about the:
processes of production, distribution and exhibition in British Film.
Your answer should make reference to specific examples from the case studies we have studied.
To break things down a bit more - The question requires you to discuss these three areas…
•Production – Processes and decisions that take place when making a film.
•Distribution – Advertising, merchandising and delivering the film to the market
•Exhibition – The different ways in which the audience can ‘consume’ the film
You should also make reference to:
- Synergy - the promotion and sale of a product (and all its versions) throughout the various subsidiaries of a media conglomerate
- Proliferation - comes from the word prolific which means lots... think about it :-)
- Convergence - when multiple media systems coexist and where content flows fluidly across them
Lastly it is all about you!! Ok so not you exactly but certainly about audiences.
Remember all of this Production, Distribution and Exhibition business is done to get as many audience members as possible consuming a product.
Read the Marks Scheme thingy:

Make sure that you have looked at these BEFORE lessons. even if you don't fully understand them - at least you will have specific questions to ask.
Media AS Revision 009 (Section B)
View more presentations from cskinner1.
We will be going through these over the next few lessons. It is however VERY important that you are revising them before and after each lesson.
come to each lesson with questions.
ALSO go through the booklet I emailed you before the holidays.
- Read it.
- Now go and read it again.
- Now come and ask me questions about it.
- Now go away and do some of your own research.
- Now come back and ask me about the research that you have done
... you get the idea??
I can not spoon feed you all of the information that you need - especially because the exam board specifies that you do your OWN case study- yes this means one that you do off your own back! Exams are marked centre by centre so you need to make sure that you do your own case study that is different from the other members of this class!!
